Qualcomm, the chipset maker launched the Snapdragon 855 as an upgrade to the Snapdragon 845. It is one of the first chips that supports the upcoming 5G network and has been built keeping in mind about the upcoming technologies such as Artificial Intelligence.
Smaller than the 10nm Snapdragon 845, The 7nm Snapdragon 855 chip includes 1×2.84GHz (Cortex A76), 3×2.4GHz (Cortex A76), and 4×1.8GHz (Cortex-A55). Unless you are a tech savvy person, understanding CPU and its architecture is going to be confusing. The 855 chipset is 22% faster than 845 and comes with a few extra features which really is worth it. The Adreno 640 (GPU) is 20% faster than the one in the Snapdragon 840 chipset.
Android Authority, a reliable Android news website has reported an overall improvement by 29% which is very close to our results. However, the official Qualcomm website mentions the improvement percentage to be around 45%. Ofcourse, the test results posted in the official website wouldn’t have taken place in the laboratory and misses the real-world factor.
The Chipmaker also launched an upgrade to the Snapdragon 855 in the form of 855 Plus. The major difference among both is that the upgrade comes with higher clock rates which makes it further faster than the Snapdragon 855. The difference isn’t going to much huge, but could surely make a difference to people who are into gaming!
