The Latest version of Waze for iOS supports Siri Shortcuts

The recently launched update in Waze would allow Apple users to make use of SIRI shortcuts. Using it, people will be able to record shortcuts for their daily commute or for their favorite places.

So you just have to launch SIRI and say “Drive home” and it’ll launch the Waze’s navigation. This also is going to be a competition to the Apple owned Apple Maps.

For those who don’t know about Waze, it’s owned by Google. It was started to allow you to get away from the traffic police and later got a few features which allowed people to get to their destination quicker.

The voice integration is a lovely feature, but you won’t be able to get rid of the speeding tickets as the New York Police Department have asked the app to remove them.

For some of them, it still is useless for the basic search queries but with tools like Google Home, Alexa the tech companies are getting people to use the voice search often. But when it comes to navigation, Voice interaction could actually let the drivers focus on driving. The way we interact with smartphones and search is changing, Voice search is booming and Google is working hard to get people to use it.

Currently, Waze has been very highly rated on the App store and has over 1.5 million users who’ve given it an average rating of 4.8 stars. So this could possibly also be a competition to the Apple maps.
