Vanessa, TeckFlock

The 65-inch Samsung television has earned its title of being the most innovative TV because of its ability to run HDR 10+ and EliteMax technology which delivers maximum dynamic Range experience. However, the tech is only available in the Q9FN model.

It follows a minimalistic design where it has a sleek frame with dark coloring. It does have a traditional look due it being a little chunky as compared to other models. However, over some time, it grows on you. You can display a picture of the painting, and it will blend in with your room décor. It lets you replace the black screen with an image of your choice.

Jeniffer, TeckFlock

It has a range of dynamic material. The OLED65E8 makes its “own light” which is “in-depth, rich detail with great highlights.” While making the light, it eliminates any low contrast images and delivers images with a more natural look, thereby making it better than the competitors. Besides, the 4K TV beautifully creates a 3D picture.

The sound is quite average but is clean and detailed. With the built-in Dolby Atmos decoding, it produces clean sounds and gives you a cinematic experience.

The primary reason for its success is the new Alpha 9 processor and updated software. When the screen brightness is at its peak, the HDR10 pictures look brighter and more dynamic. One of the significant features about this is the Dolby Vision. It yields lovely pictures and colors with brighter highlights.

It also comes with 3 HDMI ports, which means you can quickly switch between your TV, Cable Box, Blu-ray, and gaming console without the need of flipping through input cables.

The TV weighs around 49.2 Pounds, which means you can single single-handedly shift your TV. The maximum brightness of the TV is about 280 nits, which is not excellent like other premium TVs but it’s good for the price you pay.

I had an excellent initial impression on the TV, the setup was smooth, and there was a minor reflection on the screen. There was no light bleed near the edges, no branding and zero dead pixels.

Mohit, TeckFlock

Are you a frequent Netflix user? With this, you can watch Netflix content in Enhanced HDR mode or Dolby Vision. The built-in speakers sound great are loud enough.

This is a Budget-friendly TV and should not be compared to other high-end premium TVs. It is suitable for the price. One of the significant problems in the TV is backlit, it is not even throughout the screen but is only present near the edges. You can buy it if you are on a low budget, but if you are looking for more premium TV then, we recommend you to go with others on the list.

  • Currently supports HDR10 & HLG (with latest software). Can support Dolby vision in future updates.
  • 4K and HDR
  • HDR10 and Dolby Vision
  • Innovative speaker design
  • Extreme Processor
The Sony A1E OLED is the Japanese company’s first 4K OLED TV. It follows a minimalist approach as it’s named ‘One Slate’. The brilliant idea is inspired by the fact that only the picture is visible and nothing else. It looks like a single sheet of glass because of the thin border. It blends into the décor of your room, which is the most impressive thing about it.

The best part about this series is that there are no visible speakers. Sony is taking an unconventional approach. The speakers are within the screen, which aforementioned is called the Acoustic surface. After several screen tests, the longevity of the screen was confirmed as many customers and YouTubers who were worried about the sound system affecting their screens.

The gaming mode is not as high as it claims it to be. However, the dedicated game mode can be used for various types of game.

Joan, TeckFlock

Just like the other top-notch OLED’s, the model Sony A1 supports Dolby Vision. It has a variety of dynamic range together with HRD10. Prior to this TV, Only LG could incorporate this feature and now – Sony is a part of this niche.

As per the visuals, Sony reaches beyond the expectations. The Sony A1 OLED has the X1 Extreme processor which makes the images and colors look spectacular. To add to the image quality, Sony A1 is brighter than any other OLEDs due to its high dynamic range. Furthermore, the stability of the images is mind-blowing. Slow motion shots are smoothly displayed on the screen without any lag or judder due to its Extreme processor.

6. Premium Yet Pocket-Friendly: TCL 65R617 65

TCL 65R617 65

Simply put, and LED TV with Full array and contrast control zones is the only way in LED TV can have the blackest blacks and whitest whites on screen at the same time, delivering an amazing contrast, bright vibrant white, and deep rich blacks.
  • The 120 Hz clear motion index uses a combination of the TVs need of 60 Hz panel and back like scanning to deliver clear fast action. This technology prevents the “soap opera effect”.
  • While TCL Roku TVs do not include Bluetooth, you can connect this TV to external audio by using either HDMI ARC, a digital optical audio out, or an analog audio out in the form of a 3.5 mm Jack.
  • Compatible with Alexa and Google Assistant
  • LED backlighting with contrast control Zones
  • Dolby Vision HDR
  • Voice Control
  • CCZ Technology
  • 120Hz CMI Refresh Rate
  • Wide Colour
  • Roku TV smart platform

The TCL 65R617 is an upgrade from the TCL 65S517. The most distinctive feature between the two is the CCZ Technology. For those who don’t know, CCZ stands for Contrast Control Zones which gives TV a combination of the full array backlight with up to 120 zones of individual control to dimming zone of the TV. Much Technical right? In simpler words, it provides excellent black color and white on the screen at the same time.

The design looks beautiful with brushed metal. It gives a very masculine vibe. If you don’t use Cable TV, then Roku TV can be beneficial. You can have access to tons of major apps like Netflix, Amazon Prime, YouTube, etc. The remote is voice-enabled and take voice inputs. You can control the TV only using your voice. It also has an Ethernet port, which is excellent if you stream a lot.

I tested it by playing God of Wrath and FarCry 5 in HDR mode, there was no input lag, and it looked beautiful. The TV has a dedicated gaming mode which minimizes the input lag.

Joan, TeckFlock

Coming to the software, the TV comes with the Roku OS platform. It works as it advertises, it’s smooth but can lag sometimes. When it comes to gaming, the TV performs exceptionally well. I believe that it is TV’s most powerful feature.

7. Cheap 65-inch 4K TV: Vizio P series Quantum

  • 3840 x 2160 resolution
  • HDR10
  • Best under $1500 price range
  • Dolby Vision
  • 5 HDMI and 1 USB port
  • SmartCast

Do not let the name fool you, Vizio is not just an inexpensive brand. The company has been increasing its quality for some time now, and in today’s market, it can be put in the same pool as Samsung, Sony, and LG.

It is unboxing happiness, and this TV comes in with an amazing dimming backlight system with a sleek and thin profile. It is framed with a sleek metal with a die-cast aluminum stand to make it look sophisticated. This series is equipped with 5 HDMI inputs. Along with that, there are video connectors, and HDMI jacks and no adaptor cables are needed.

Unfortunately, the remote remains conventional, and it is the same one they have been using for years. It is filled with too many buttons, and there is a higher chance of pressing the wrong one. In this area, Vizio has not upgraded. It has the feature of casting apps to form your phone with its built-in Chromecast version. It also helps you categorize the apps according to your preference.

Vizio’s Watch Free service is its newest addition to the model who is looking for free TV shows and movies. This is due to its partnership with Pluto TV. They offer most of the channels and there is a large variety to choose from.

One of the drawbacks for most of the customers if that it lacks built-in voice assistant. However, it is not eliminated – you can, to some extent, control it with Alexa or Google Assistant and Google home works relatively good with this OLED.

Gaming Mode is also available, but it is a little disappointing. It allows you to game in 4K, but it does not offer HDR gaming. To do that, you have to adjust it in the settings such as enabling the HDMI 2.0 Input. It is a little frustrating and time consuming to access the gaming mode.

What makes this OLED different from the TV in this series is the use of the quantum dots. It gives the images a sharper and a more vivid look. It makes it brighter with an amazing contrast feature.

In terms of the audio, the TV has a 10-watt speaker which produces a satisfactory quality of noise, but the base levels offered are weak. In terms of its competitors, the sound levels are a bit disappointing.

Pros

Pros
  • Quantum-dot display which offers bright and vibrant colour
  • Dimming Backlight offers deep blacks and brighter lights
  • Vizio’s SmartCast has Google Chromecast built in

Cons

Cons

  • Poor audio quality
  • Style is a little conventional
  • No voice control without a third device.

Many of us want a high-quality OLED with all the features with a specific budget in mind. This LG OLED gives you everything you need, but it is with a higher price tag. Plus, it is not the only OLED TV in the market. You can explore your options by trying out the new SONY AF8 OLED which gives you quality and feature which may not be offered by the other OLED TV’s.

A steep update from the A1E of 2017, A8F comes in 65-inch with a sleek look. It features a 4K resolution with HDR10. Furthermore, it supports Dolby Vision. Performance quality has not changed. It is still as spectacular as the A1E of 2017, but there have been several changes in the design, and there have been updates in the features to live up to the expectations.

It follows a traditional design, which means that the TV stands straight. It has a supporting base. It follows a minimalist approach. Therefore, it makes it easy for you to keep on a rack or a TV case. Like its predecessor, It also follows a ‘One Slate’ look allows you to look only at the screen and nothing else.

The only part of this TV that does not live up to the competition in the market is its remote. It follows a very traditional approach, which was the norm years ago. Unlike the LG or the Philips, it does not have a magic wand such as the touchpad remote. However, the feature that sets it apart from the other OLED is the Acoustic Surface. It does not have visible speakers, but the screen is the one that produces the audio. It acts as a giant speaker as the Actuators vibrate the TV screen.

Regarding the visuals, it has an Ultra HD 4k resolution with a high dynamic range. It has an excellent processor which brings in the details and colors in the images.

The software of this OLED does not disappoint. Sony has incorporated Android TV, which includes linking your Android phone and Google home compatibility. There is also excellent app support such as Netflix, Amazon, and YouTube.

However, when compared to the other top-notch players such as LG and Philips, the Image quality fails as the brightness is not up to the expectations. But it does have a Fantastic image processing, and the audio is spectacular. It has refined image quality and relatively good gaming support.

Market Research: The 4K-inch 65-inch Television

Don’t want to read the research? Jump to the list

According to a report published by Grand View Research, Televisions of size between 52-inch to 65-inch contributed to about 40% of the overall revenue share in 2016. The same study also mentions that with an increase in purchasing power in many countries, the television industry would be worth $380.9 Bn by the year 2025.

Statista in a report, mentioned that the watch time has decreased from 25.5 hrs/week to 12.7 hrs/week. Despite the fall in watch time, TVs still remain the most reliable platform for news and entertainment as professionals create it and display to us in the most innovative way possible. The same report which we mentioned above says that “Television as a medium reaches 88% of the American adults in a week.”

The research doesn’t ends here, there are a lot of television facts I’m willing to share, because I’ve done a research on this topic for more than 74 hours and want it to be helpful to companies and others in a different regions. But for now, shall we just begin with the reviews of the televisions?

65-inch 4K Televisions – The Buyers Guide

This section of the post focuses more on providing knowledge about televisions and helping you choose the perfect television for a really high-quality television experience

After looking at the best 65-inch televisions above, you must have developed some idea about the kind of TV you want and make the choice that is the best for you. However, it is challenging to choose from so many options, especially in today’s era, when the market is flooded with competitors, and it very easy to get influenced by different players in this platform.

1. Screen Size

Basic or high-performance tv will always be influenced by screen size. Screen size will affect your decision, and it would be a significant factor. One thing to consider is the number of people in your family or the number of people you want to share the TV with. Accordingly, pick the right size which will fit into space and in your budget as well.

The best and most convenient size is 65-Inch. It is not overwhelmingly large and not squeezed into a small space either. The other factor that influences your decision is the distance at which you want to keep the TV at. If you sit too close, you can see pixelated images which will ruin your experience. The optimum distance is sitting three times the height of the TV if it is 4K Ultra HD. Remember, the more the pixels, the better and more refined images will be displayed. You should also focus on the design of the television.

If you don’t want it to look obstructive, you should consider what base it comes with and length and the thickness of the TV.  I will determine where you can put it, be it mounting on the wall or placing it on a TV stand. The most popular design right now is the two-legged stand which allows it to have a firm stand and gives it a modern look. However, these designs are usually not available in the affordable category.

Television isn’t just a gadget anymore. It is a part of your lifestyle, and it needs to fit into your space. If you are looking for a TV that will blend into your place and décor, it will be a little costly as it is on the high end. With thin and sleek looks, metal outline with smaller bezels will almost make it look like a centerpiece of your living room. Televisions with a quality finish and televisions with a plastic finish will show the difference between a conventional and modernized look.

2. HDR

HDR is the latest feature in modern TVs. It has the ability to deliver more vibrant and sharper images with more contrast and brightness. It is an upgraded version of the 4K and the Ultra HD. Another really important factor is the Dolby Vision, which is a better version of the HDR.  If you have decided to go for the 4K Ultra HD, you have to make sure that there are available HDMI ports. This includes HDMI 2.0 to support this application.

3. OLED/LED/LCD

In today’s market, there are several varieties of TV includes OLED, LCD and LED. The difference between this processing. OLED are relatively new and offer a variety of features as compared to the other two types. OLED has a layer of organic LED which is able to provide a stunning level of brightness and contrast. It produces amazing visuals which finer details and color quality.

4. Connectivity

Increasing demand for more series such as Wifi and other platforms is evident. A number of televisions are not proving you with Wi-Fai connectivity for streaming services such as Netflix and Amazon. You can also run apps from your phone, which allows functions such as YouTube to be displayed. Even Facebook can be accessed, and many other applications can be connected to the Tv. The latest models can even search for content across streaming services and live to program on cable and satellite. Streaming apps available on smart TVs is an amazing way to enjoy 4K and HDR content.

5. Sound System

Many Tv and sound systems support Dolby Atmos, a newer audio system from Dolby that provides a fuller and a better listening experience. You can achieve the  Atmos effect using in-ceiling speakers, many TVs have incorporated the Atmos audio processing and upward facing speakers to create more realistic sounds, and it does not require you to use multiple speaker placement.

6. Pricing

In terms of finance, it is highly recommended to get an extended warren. It is one of the biggest revenue sources for electronics stores. Why? Even though it is barely needed because today’s company makes the screen highly resilient and shockproof. If there does occur a problem, you can immediately return it within 30 days of ownership. Many also offer a one-year warranty, and the credit card companies also offer coverage on the purchase.

You will opt for the latest features and best capabilities and are willing to paying a full amount for it. But many are a little hesitant in buying because they feel that it is too expensive. Therefore, we have given you the options of TV which are sold at a lower price and do offer you all the required features. Televisions have never been better, and now they are becoming more and more affordable. The performance capability has a gradual increase as well, and it is your choice to make. Make smarter buying decisions, and you will not regret it later.

  1. Wonderful research and great product selection! I bought 2 televisions and I’m quite satisfied, people who told me that I shouldn’t be buying a television just from reading reviews were shocked with the performance of the televisions. They paid 20% more than what I paid and have the quality half of what I even got with the LGOLED65. Great post, I wish it was more visible as I found this URL on the second page when I was done reading reviews which just talked about specs!

  2. Planning to buy something which comes under a $1000 (USD) price range. Can extend it upto $1200, but would have a soft spot for something under the 1000 price range, maybe something near 800-900 would be ideal.
